Here's a sick acoustic performance from Northampton duo Smokey Green Offspring aka siblings Emma P (Emma Pick) & Ceepz (Callum Pick)
If you have never heard of these two before here's a little background info:
Ceepz (Callum Pick) is a 21 year old songwriter and rapper from the eastern district of Northampton England UK. Ceepz has developed over the years as one of Northampton's leading rappers and songwriters. He has been performing regularly in pubs and clubs for the last 2 years with his quick witted and observant lyrics, gaining him much deserved acclaim amongst his peers on the music circuit. Ceepz began writing lyrics at an early age after being influenced by his father, a working musician and singer songwriter.
Ceepz developed a taste for hip hop after being introduced to American artists such as Nas, DMX, Jedi Mind Tricks and Tupac, later applying his lyrics to the British Grime scene before finding his own style of writing and delivery. Ceepz has deliberately avoided the traditional Gangster style of hip hop lyrics instead favoring a real rugged and raw style of lyricism and choosing to deliver this with his talented sister Emma P'S distinctive and emotive vocals.
Emma P (Emma Pick) has been performing from a very young age, at times (believe it or not) with her fathers live band at various venues from the tender age of 8. Emma P was first influenced by the urban and R N B scene, writing and performing with her talented elder sister Zara. Emma P has become well known and respected with her distinctive vocals, winning over audiences in Northampton and London. Emma first started playing guitar at 13 years old, taking lessons from her dad the original smokeygreen, whom she credits as her biggest influence in music and the namesake of the band.
In her collaborations with Ceepz she chooses to concentrate more on composing the music for their tunes, delivering breathtaking vocal melodies for Ceepz lyrics. Although her contribution to the songwriting partnership can't be understated as she has wrote many of the hooks as well as several solo songs. Emma P's raw, powerful and emotive song delivery style has earned her a dedicated fan base that continues to grow.
