Those of you that have followed our blog over the years will already know that we have a lot of love and respect for musical "oddball come genius" Twisted Pennys and rate him as one of the most underrated hip hop artists in the modern uk scene.
Black Blankets is the latest piece of audio hallucinogen to make its way out of the mind of TP via his vocal chords. Ive got to admit when i heard there was a follow up release to last years "Torture Chambers" i was overly excited but at the same time felt fearful that he wouldn't be able to match or beat it with this new project.
The result however is yet another timeless collection of music from the talented young lyricist but i will say this, Twisted Pennys is not for everyone. Twisted Pennys makes music for the kid at school who never fits into any of the social groups and thus finds himself divulging deep into his own mind to study the inner depths of the music he listens to. This is not to say that the popular crowd cant listen to TP but i personally think they wont have the depth needed for his music to resonate with them.
This project is an absolute pleasure to listen to from start to finish and i urge you to head to his soundcloud and download yourself a copy of each of the tracks. 2015 promises to bring a lot from Twisted Pennys and we will be there 100% of the way to document the footsteps of this modern day prophet of hip hop
